Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
Baseplate Tech Inc. ("Hindsight," "we," "us," or "our"), a Delaware corporation doing business as Hindsight, operates the Hindsight platform — available at usehindsight.com and the application at app.usehindsight.com (collectively, the "Service"), which provides AI-powered win-loss analysis, buyer interviews, and competitive intelligence tools for B2B software companies.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you interact with us — whether as a customer (the company subscribing to Hindsight), an authorized user of a customer account, or an interview participant (a buyer or evaluator invited to complete a win-loss interview).
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Customer and Authorized User Information
When a company subscribes to Hindsight, we collect:
- Account data: company name, billing address, email addresses, and names of authorized users
- Billing information: processed securely via our payment provider (we do not store full credit card numbers)
- CRM data: deal records, opportunity data, and contact information that customers connect to Hindsight from systems like Salesforce or HubSpot
- Usage data: features used, timestamps, session data, and platform interactions
- Communications: messages sent to us via email or in-app support
2.2 Interview Participant Information
When a buyer or evaluator participates in a Hindsight win-loss interview, we collect:
- Identity information: name, job title, company, and email address (provided by the customer who initiated the interview)
- Interview recordings and transcripts: audio and/or text-based recordings of the conversation, including voice data if the participant chooses to speak
- Responses and feedback provided during the interview
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and session metadata
For interview participants: Before each interview, you are shown a disclosure screen explaining that the interview is conducted by an AI interviewer, that the conversation will be recorded and transcribed, and how your data will be used. You must affirmatively consent before the interview begins. You may end the interview at any time.
2.3 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit our website or use the Service, we automatically collect:
- Log data (IP address, browser type, OS, referring URLs, pages visited, timestamps)
- Device information (device type, screen resolution, system configuration)
- Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 8)
3. How We Use Your Information
For Customers and Authorized Users
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Communicate about your account, updates, and support
- Send product updates and marketing (with consent; you may opt out anytime)
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
For Interview Participants
- Conduct and record the interview: Your responses are processed by Hindsight's AI to generate structured insights (themes, decision drivers, competitive intelligence) for the customer who initiated the interview.
- Aggregation: Individual responses are aggregated into themes and patterns. By default, your name is not attached to specific quotes shared with the customer's sales team unless you have consented to attributed quotes.
- Service improvement: To improve the quality and accuracy of our AI interviewer and analysis.
- Communications: To contact you about the interview (e.g., scheduling, incentive delivery).
4. AI Processing
Hindsight uses artificial intelligence to:
- Conduct interviews: Our AI interviewer ("Paige") is a conversational AI agent that asks questions and follows up based on your responses. Paige is clearly identified as an AI at the start of every interview.
- Analyze responses: AI models process interview transcripts to extract themes, decision drivers, competitor mentions, and sentiment. These are presented to the customer as structured reports.
- Generate summaries: AI produces summaries for customer dashboards, reports, and alerts.
Model training: We may use de-identified and aggregated data to improve our AI models. We do not use personally identifiable interview data for model training without appropriate consent. Customers may opt out of model training by contacting us at [email protected].
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell personal information.
With Customers (for Interview Participants)
Interview responses, transcripts, and AI-generated insights are shared with the Hindsight customer who initiated the interview. This is the core purpose of the Service. Customers control how this information is used within their organization.
